Vendor Inspections
Covers activities performed at manufacturer’s works for all types of Mechanical, Rotating, Static and Structural equipment purchased for the petrochemical, oil and gas and mining industries.
Whether for a new construction or on-going maintenance of an existing plant, Vendor Inspection and Expediting are integral to purchasing activties to ensure product specifications and delivery schedules are met.
Our scope or level of inspection is determined by the client’s requirements and controlled by a quality plan. This scope can range from final inspection to an intensive inspection regime, starting from the pre-production meeting through to the identification and inspection of all raw materials, inspections at all prescribed hold-point stages, witnessing of all tests, verification of all documentation and certificates and a final release inspection.

Construction Inspections
Balfour QC Services can provide site surveillance and auditing during fabrication, construction, installation and precommissioning to ensure quality compliance relating to contruction management & supervision, engineering specialists and inspection specialist. We also observe and report the results of our inspections, providing recommendations to address any area of non-conformance by the execution contractor.
Manufacturer’s Data Record Development
Balfour QC Services can develop the Manufacturer’s data Report/Record from start to finish based on client’s index or we can provide an index. The Manufacturer’s Data Report (MDR) is the compilation of all the techical details and records of activities performed by a contractor as part of an engineering construction or modification project. This may include any of the following activities:
- Design
- Supply of materials, proprietary plant and equipment
- Off-site fabrication, surface treatment, assembly
- On site construction, assembly, erection and installation of plant and equipment
- Inspection, testing and commissioning.
The MDR also serves as a historical record and can be useful in helping to identify the cause of problems with quality, performance or reliability of the plant and equipment later in its life.
Inspection Test Plan Development
Balfour QC Services can develop the Inspection Test Plan based on Clients scope of work. This describes the minimum requirements of the quality control activities, Inspection & Test items during fabrication and/or construction phase, reference documents, required acceptance criteria, certifying or verifying documents, and inspection parties involved; it’s all to assure that the product will be built in accordance with project specifications, code & standard requirements, and meet local government regulations.
Field Inspection Certificate/Inspection Test Record Development
Balfour QC Services can provide Inspection Test Records based on requirements from the scope of work. These are specific to each piece of equipment/plant being supplied for rotating, static, or structural. They provide a historic record that minimum requirements of the acceptance criteria are met. They are the sign off to verifying that all parties involved are happy that the product has been built in accordance with project specifications and tolerances, code & standard requirements. They go hand in hand with the Inspection Test Plan.
